Or want to command attention by looming larger than life before your audience much like Abraham Lincoln when standing erect and wearing a top hat he towered over seven feet? Now you can master presentation skills wow your audience and shoot up There are so many gems in this book for new and seasoned speakers alike If you're looking for practical advice that you an implement to improve your public speaking this is a terrific resource I will admit that I was a little put out by the freuent biblical references but the rest of the content is so good that it still makes the book worthwhileDo bear in mind that some suggestions may be a wee outdated or should only be used in certain situations For example I thought I'd try the suggestion to bring extra emphasis to a uote during a speech by lifting a paper and reading the uote rather than just reciting it It seemed like a good idea at the time but when I tried this the first and only time during a Toastmasters speech several evaluators suggested that I try to memorize uotes rather than read them Admittedly it did feel a little awkward when I did it but sometimes it doesn't hurt to try something new
